Mysore/Mysuru: Three students from Mysuru’s Excel Public School have emerged among top 10 participants in ShePreneur Programme, a CSR initiative of Dell Technologies in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog and Learning Links Foundation as an implementation partner.
Asmita Rao, G. Deeksha and Gahana H. Prasad, currently in Class IX, presented a millet vending machine for dispensing customised millet malts at the programme.
The team contended with 26 other innovative projects presented by teams from all over India to secure the coveted spot. This student entrepreneurship initiative is focused on fostering women entrepreneurship in India, particularly student entrepreneurs.
The boot camp focused on fostering women entrepreneurs aligns with Dell Technologies’ commitment to diversity and empowerment. This programme was conducted in a physical setting from Jan. 10 to 14 at Dell Technologies, Domlur campus in Bengaluru, where it introduces female students to various aspects of problem-solving, design thinking, product development, branding and patenting.
Talking about their experience at the boot camp, the student entrepreneurs of Excel Public School (Asmita, Deeksha and Gahana) said: “The ShePreneur prog. conducted by Dell Technologies brought out the leadership qualities in us and made us think like entrepreneurs. We were able to interact with global leaders and understand how the market works. The training comprised various agenda emphasising the role of girls and women in STEM fields, the Importance of AI in Entrepreneurship, etc. We also learnt the steps involved in arriving at the target segment, narrowing down the USP of the product and various marketing strategies involved to reach the target segment.”
Commenting on the students’s achievement, K.G. Mathew, Principal, Excel Public School, said: “The students have made us proud. This success not only reflects their individual brilliance but is also an inspiration to aspiring young student entrepreneurs across the nation. We at Excel have a dedicated innovation centre where students have developed 260 such projects for Atal Tinkering Lab alone across science, technology, engineering, climate change, sustainability, agriculture, social impact/ inclusion, etc.”
