Extend Howrah – Sri Sathya Sai Prashanti Nilayam Weekly up to Mysuru

Sir,

Train number 22831/22832 Howrah – Sri Sathya Sai Prashanti Nilayam runs as a Weekly Express via Kharagpur-Bhubaneswar-Vijayawada-Guntur. The train arrives overnight at Prashanti Nilayam (that is, the station under Bengaluru-Dharmawaram section) on Thursdays and returns to Howrah on Friday morning every week.

The train’s rake can further be put to optimum use by facilitating its extension up to Mysuru via Bengaluru as the rake remains idle overnight for up to 8 hours at Prashanti Nilayam station.

Further it will be the only earliest connecting train to Howrah, as the current schedule of the train operating from Prashanthi Nilayam route bypasses Vishakapatnam Junction. As also the train runs on a Weekly basis, it may help in quicker turn around of the train’s overnight technical maintenance too.

Hence, the Railway authorities are requested to consider the suggestion to extend 22831/22832 Howrah – Sri Sathya Sai Prashanti Nilayam Weekly up to Mysuru via Bengaluru. Such a move will benefit many passengers including students, parents and other regular commuters who frequent many prestigious institutions in Kharagpur, Kolkata City and Bhubaneswar like IIT, IIM, IITTM etc.
