Bengaluru: Primary and Secondary Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar said that a proposal will be submitted to the Chief Minister seeking extension of all Government benefits, including Jyothi Sanjeevini Scheme (a health scheme) to teachers of aided schools as well.
Speaking to presspersons after holding talks with MLC Basavaraj Horatti and representatives of Teacher Associations here on Monday, Suresh Kumar said that the Government has an open mind on extending Government facilities to staff of aided private institutions also.
Referring to Horatti Committee report on wage revision, he said that financial implications of the implementation of the report will be thoroughly studied following which a detailed report will be tabled at the Cabinet meeting for consideration.
Regarding pension, he said Education Department alone cannot take a decision and it is imperative that all Government Departments take a stand on scrapping of New Pension Scheme (NPS) — also called National Pension System — and re-introduction of Old Pension Scheme.
