Mysuru: The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) and Hasiru Sene has plunged into crisis once again, with Pachhe Nanjundaswamy, son of late Prof. M.D. Nanjundaswamy, popularly known as MDN among his followers, announcing the expulsion of Badagalapura Nagendra from the post of President and office-bearers Hosakote Basavaraj and Hosur Kumar, for violation of Sangha rules.
Addressing a press meet here yesterday, Pachhe Nanjundaswamy alleged that the trio, at a recent press meet had announced the removal of Vidyasagar, a farmer leader of Nanjangud, from the KRRS, without even issuing a show-cause notice to him.
As the other members expressed severe opposition to the move of the trio, the KRRS has expelled Nagendra, Hosakote Basavaraj and Hosur Kumar.
Pointing out that the trio has been expelled from the Primary membership of KRRS, Pachhe Nanjundaswamy maintained that barring the KRRS, that is duly registered with the Government, the other factions associated with the Sangha are just on paper.
Stating that strict action will be taken against those who attempt to create discord in the organisation, he announced that B.A. Lakshminarayana Gowda has been appointed as the new KRRS President and Vidyasagar, the President of Mysuru district unit.
Raghu has been appointed as KRRS General Secretary and K.G. Shivaprasad as the Honorary President, he added.
Pachhe Nanjundaswamy further said that as part of Prof. M.D. Nanjundaswamy’s birth anniversary, ‘Raithotsava’ a State-level gathering of farmers will be held at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Feb. 13, in which over 40,000 farmers are expected to take part.
Meanwhile, Badgalapura Nagendra reacting to his expulsion, claimed that his expulsion was ridiculous.
Maintaining that Pachhe Nanjundaswamy is neither an office-bearer or a primary member of the KRRS, Nagendra wondered how Pachhe can expel him from the organisation.
Alleging that Pachhe stayed away from the organisation intentionally, Nagendra accused him of choosing a wrong path to get hold of the organisation, which has been fighting for the cause of farmers for nearly four decades.
