Families to get Rs. 15 lakh: CM

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced a compensation of Rs. 15 lakh to the families of two victims who were killed in leopard attacks in Mysuru last week. The CM said that the compensation would be similar to the one that is paid to the kin of victims of wild elephant attacks.

With incidents of leopard attacks in Bengaluru as well as Mysuru being reported recently, Bommai said he has directed the Forest Department to deploy dedicated teams to catch the leopards straying into urban areas and human settlements.
