Mysore/Mysuru: In a heart wrenching incident, the family members of a deceased girl are waiting for the return of the girl’s father, who had left his home about three months ago, to perform the last rites of his daughter who was killed in a road accident.
N. Kavana, daughter of Nagaraju (Kenchappa) and Indiramma couple, residents of Kanakagiri in city, was killed in a road accident on Monday.
Kavana’s father Nagaraju had left his house a few months ago and the family members anticipating that Nagaraju will come to perform the last rites of his daughter have still kept the body of Kavana in the house and waiting for his return. They have urged him to come back by today afternoon.
Nagaraju is a loader by profession and Indiramma is a housewife. They have three children. While one daughter is married, Kavana is pursuing her BCA Course at BGS First Grade College in city and her brother is working.
Nagaraju, who was sole bread earner in the family, left his house about three months ago for some reasons. Despite searching for him everywhere, he was not found. The death of Kavana struck as a thunderbolt to her family members, who were already depressed over missing Nagaraju. They have uploaded messages on various social media platforms, urging Nagaraju to come back and perform the last rites of his daughter.
On Monday at about 11 am, Kavana, along with her friend Rekha, took the scooter of another friend and were proceeding on Hootagalli KRS Road, when the scooter hit the road divider in front of BEML Gate resulting in Kavana sustaining serious head injuries and breathing her last on the spot. Luckily, Rekha escaped with minor injuries.
Police said that though Kavana had worn a helmet, she had not fastened the helmet strap. V.V. Puram Traffic Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
