Family feud: Man hacks wife to death

Mysuru: A man allegedly hacked his wife to death following a quarrel at the house at Jayanagar here on Monday night.

While the accused has been identified as Rajesh, the victim is Nalini (32), daughter of Madappa, a resident of Kadakola in the taluk.

Nalini was given in marriage to Rajesh, son of Lingaiah of Nanjumalige 13 years ago and the couple have a 11-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. A mechanic by profession, Rajesh was staying at a rented house in Jayanagar with his wife and children. It is learnt that the couple used to quarrel frequently and a complaint was lodged at the Women’s Police Station earlier.

On Monday at about 9.30 pm, Madappa had called his daughter over the phone and had spoken with her. But when he called the next day morning, the phone was switched off.

When he rushed to his daughter Nalini’s house on Tuesday morning, he found his daughter’s blood soaked body on the cot and a machete next to the body.

Madappa in his complaint with Ashokapuram Police has accused Rajesh of murdering his daughter Nalini. Ashokapuram Police, based on the complaint from Madappa, have registered a case and have launched a hunt to nab Rajesh, who is absconding.
