Mysore/Mysuru: Family Planning Association of India (FPAIndia), Mysuru Branch, celebrated International Women’s Day 2023 in collaboration with Lions Club of Mysore Garden City at Government CPC Polytechnic in city on Mar. 8.
The programme was inaugurated by Padmavathi, Deputy District Health and Educational Officer, Mysuru.
Speaking on the occasion, Padmavathi said, one must give respect to women as it gives tremendous happiness to us. In olden days, women used to sacrifice their life for the welfare of their family and it had a positive impact on the whole family. She also spoke about demoralisation of women-folk in the current era in spite of improved education system and creating awareness of their rights.
Bijimole, Branch Manager, FPAIndia, Mysuru Branch, presided over the event. Prof. M.J. Deepthi, Head, Department of BSW, St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru and Member of FPAIndia, Mysuru, Prathima Krishna, President, Lions Garden City and others were present.
K. Vinutha, Selection Grade Lecture, Government CPC Polytechnic, Mysuru, welcomed. Devika, Programme Officer, FPAIndia, Mysuru Branch, proposed a vote of thanks.
