Mysore/Mysuru: Various farmer organisations and associations under the banner of Karnataka Samyukta Kisan Morcha, will be blocking the Highway as part of the State-wide protest near Bandipalya APMC Yard here tomorrow at 10 am urging the State Government to fix Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agriculture produce.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, State Sugarcane Growers Association State President Kurubur Shanthakumar said the Fair & Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane must be reconsidered as the cost of transportation and labour had gone up and added that the Government should establish Wheat Procurement Centres at all hoblies which would help the farmers besides fixing Minimum Support Price for all agriculture produce.
State Organising Secretary Attahalli Devaraj, District General Secretary Kiragasur Shankar, Baradanapura Nagaraj, Mysuru Taluk President Galigarahundi Venkatesh and Mysuru City General Secretary Shivarudrappa were present at the press conference.
