Mysuru: A man and his son were killed on the spot when the rider lost control of the scooter and hit a KSRTC bus from behind, near Kote Hundi on Mysuru-H.D. Kote Road early this morning.
The deceased are Prakash (50) and his son Suresh (23), native of Katte Hunasur in the taluk but residing at Mahadevapura in J.P. Nagar here.
The duo was proceeding on their Honda Dio scooter (KA-09 HF-1806) to Katte Hunasur to get rations from a Public Distribution System (PDS) shop when the KSRTC City Bus (KA-09 F-3448) bound for Yelige Hundi, which was moving ahead, took a right turn at the circle to go to Kote Hundi side.
The scooter rider, who lost control, rammed into the rear tyres of the bus resulting in both the rider and pillion rider falling from the scooter and suffering serious head injuries. They died on the spot. Assistant SP Kshama Mishra, Additional SP P.V. Sneha, Mysuru South Inspector Jeevan, Sub-Inspector E.C. Vanaraj and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary.
Mysuru South Police, who have registered a case, have seized both the vehicles.
