Mysuru: As part of 55th Foundation Day of Computer Society of India (CSI), Prof. M. S. Veerendra Kumar, Chairman, CSI Mysore Chapter and Team felicitated Dr. K. Chidananda Gowda, former Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University and his wife Tarini at Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) recently.
Dr. Narayan K. Choudhary, Assistant Director, CIIL, was the guest of honour. Prof. M. S. Veerendra Kumar presided.
Dr. Chidananda Gowda, who was the chief guest, explained about the technology evolution since 1950 till date and pointed out about the concept of ‘one to many’ (one system, too many users) concept, which later changed to ‘one to one’ and ‘many to one’. He said that the current cloud technology has brought back the ‘one to many’ concept.
Dr. Narayan advised students to find career in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning and National Physical Laboratory.
Prof. Veerendra Kumar mentioned about the Chapter activities and Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition organised by the chapter recently.
Later, prizes were distributed to the winners of inter-collegiate competition. Nitin Shrivatsa of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering was honoured with “Mr. CSI Mysore” title while Prerana K. Urs from GSSS College of Engineering was “Ms. CSI Mysore”.
J.G. Venkatesh, CSI Secretary, rendered the invocation. B.S. Viswanatha Rao welcomed. Aruna Devi, Vice-Chairperson, proposed a vote of thanks. M.P. Pushpalatha, Assistant Professor of SJCE, anchored.
