Felicitation marks anniversary celebrations of Music School

 Vid. Mahesh and Vidu. Kavita Kamath, who were conferred with ‘Nartana Chatura’ and ‘Gana Kala Sindhoori’ titles respectively during the 28th anniversary celebrations of Swaralaya Music School, Mysuru, at Ganabharathi (Veene Seshanna Bhavan), are seen with the office-bearers of Swaralaya.

Mysuru:  The 28th anniversary celebrations of city-based ‘Swaralaya Music School’ was held at Ganabharati (Veene Seshanna  Bhavan) on Adichunchanagiri Road in Kuvempuanagar recently.

Noted Music Director Vid. Ganesh Bhat inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, he said that music was divine and lauded the contribution of Saint Purandaradasa in the spread of Karnataka music in the country.

Music teacher Dr. Geetha was the chief guest. Suma Harinath, President, Swaralaya Music School, presided over the programme.

Vidu. Kavita Kamath, famous light music singer of Mysuru, was awarded the title of  ‘Gana Kala Sindhoori’ and well-known dancer and founder of Sharada Performing Arts Centre, Chamarajanagar, Vid. Mahesh was awarded the title of ‘Nartana Chatura.’ H.S. Srikanthamani, Secretary of the Institution, compered.
