Exploitation of women has not stopped, regrets ex-VC
Mysore/Mysuru: Former Karnataka Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr. Padma Shekar inaugurated International Women’s Day at Suyog Hospital in Ramakrishnanagar recently.
Speaking on the occasion, she regretted that exploitation of women, particularly at the lower strata of society, has continued despite women making waves in almost all fields and sectors. Maintaining that while men work only outside, women do household chores apart from going for office work, she said that women are successful in maintaining professionalism just as men.
On the occasion, the following were felicitated in recognition of their services to society: Gayathri Narayangowda (Working President, Suyog Diabetics Health Club), Vijaya Nanjundaiah (Social Worker, Ramakrishnanagar), Chandrakala (OT Chief Nurse, Suyog), Dr. Amulya and Dr. Jyothi (Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Suyog), Uttara Mary (Nursing Superintendent, Suyog) and Gangamma (House Keeping, Suyog).
