Mysore/Mysuru: In order to take up road widening works on the 1-km stretch (km 185 to 186) of NH-212 near Hosahalli Gate, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had sought the permission of the Forest Department for felling of roadside trees.
Subsequently, the Forest Department staff, along with NHAI officials, carried out a joint survey, when it was found that a total of 91 trees, including 33 trees on the right side of the road and 58 on the left side of the road have to be felled for road widening and rectification of the identified black spots.
Accordingly, the Forest Department has called a public meeting near Hosahalli Gate bus shelter on Nanjangud Road at 11 am tomorrow (May 21) on the issue of felling of trees, during which citizens can come up with their objections, if any, during the meeting. The citizens can also e-mail their objections through e-mail: nanjangudrange@gmail.com
