The fifth Oxygen Express special train arrived at Whitefield in Bengaluru city outskirts yesterday, from Tatanagar, Jharkhand. A signal free ‘Green Corridor’ was created by the Railways to enable swift transport of Oxygen Express. The train carried 8 Cryogenic Containers and each Container carried 20 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (Total tonnage: 160 Tonnes), according to a SWR release on Thursday. So far, Karnataka has received 640 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen by Rail. Indian Railways has so far run 196 Oxygen Expresses and transported nearly 11,800 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen all over the country to assist State Governments in their fight against Covid-19.
