Mysore/Mysuru: S. Thanya became the first swimmer from Mysuru to get selected in Khelo India Junior Women’s Swimming series-2022 organised by Swimming Federation of India and Sports Authority of India at Ray Aquatic Centre, Bengaluru, on Aug. 20 and 21. Various swimmers from across the country had participated in the contest.
Thanya cleared Round-1 and has won bronze medal in Karnataka State Senior Aquatic Championship-2022. She is also selected for the second round securing III place in 200 m breast stroke (2:55:19) under 15 years category from Karnataka.
Thanya has also participated in Dolphin Aquatics in
Karnataka Senior Aquatic Championship-2022 organised by Karnataka Swimming Association which was held at Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence, Bengaluru, from Aug. 12 to 14.
In the contest, she has won a bronze medal in 4X100m medley (4:41:04).
Thanya is an 8th std. student of Sri Sharada Public School, Mysuru. Daughter of S.P. Shadakshari and N. Shwetha, she is trained under Pavankumar of Global Sports Association, J.P. Nagar Swimming Pool, Mysuru.
