Fit Mysuru Walkathon on Jan.11

Mysuru:  University of Mysore (UoM) will be organising ‘Fit Mysuru Walkathon’ on Jan. 11, 2026 to promote healthy, clean, green and safe Mysuru, said UoM Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. N.K. Lokanath here yesterday.

Addressing the media persons at Crawford Hall in city, Prof. Lokanath said, the Walkthon was being organised in association with GSS Group of Institutions and Mysore Gym Association.

The 5K walkathon will be held from 6 am to 8 am on Jan. 11 from Open Air Theatre in Manasagangothri. Around 10,000 members, including college students and general public, are expected to take part in the event.

Former International Cricketer and ICC Match Referee Javagal Srinath, elected representatives and district officials will be taking part, he added.

UoM Registrar M.K. Savitha  said, “The Yoga Day celebrations organised by UoM was a huge success. Similar efforts are made to ensure Fit Mysuru Walkathon is organised successfully.”
