Gold chains worth Rs. 15.50 lakh recovered; 2 two-wheelers seized
Mysore/Mysuru: In separate operations, the special Police team, comprising Police personnel from Ashokapuram & Krishnaraja (KR) Police Stations, KR Sub-Division’s Crime Division and City Crime Branch (CCB), have arrested five chain-snatchers and have recovered gold chains weighing a total of 179 grams and worth Rs. 15.50 lakh besides seizing 2 two-wheelers used for the crime.
In the first operation, the Special Police team on June 21 arrested one accused and again nabbed two accused on June 22 who were involved in chain snatching in Ashokapuram Police limits and interrogated them.
During questioning, the first and second accused is said to have confessed of snatching a gold chain in Ashokapuram Police limits and the first and third accused confessed of snatching two gold chains in VV Puram Police limits.
Based on the information provided by the three accused, the Police team has recovered two gold chains weighing 62 grams and worth Rs. 5.50 lakh from them.
Following their arrest, the Police team has solved one case each registered in Ashokapuram and VV Puram Police Stations.
DCP (Crime & Traffic) S. Jahnavi & KR Sub-Division Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) H.B. Rameshkumar guided Ashokapuram Inspector C.E. Rohit, KR Inspector N.C. Nagegowda, SIs Harish, Lakkappa Kukkadi and Pratibha Jangavadi and staff Raju, Srinivas Prasad, Lokesh, Girish, Suhas, Varun, Basavaraju Munyal, Gangaraju, Sachin, Prasanna Kumar, Prasanna Kumar Bhagat, Mukadhar Shariff, Siddaramappa Poojari, Karthik, Pradeep & Bheema Shankar in the nabbing & recovery operation.
In another operation, the CCB Police, on June 22, arrested two-persons who were involved in chain snatching and stealing vehicles and have recovered gold chains weighing 117 grams and worth Rs. 10 lakh, besides seizing 2 two-wheelers used for the crime.
The two accused were picked up at Ashoka Road and 12th West Cross junction and were interrogated during which the accused are said to have confessed of snatching gold chains and lifting two-wheelers.
Based on the information provided by the accused, the CCB Police have recovered gold chain weighing 117 grams and worth Rs. 10 lakh from them.
Following their arrest, the Police have solved two chain snatching cases registered in Vidyaranyapuram Police Station and one case in Alanahalli Police Station, one two-wheeler lifting case in Metagalli Police Station and one case of temple theft at Harohalli Police Station in Ramanagar district.
DCP (Crime & Traffic) S. Jahnavi and CCB ACP S.N. Sandesh Kumar guided CCB Unit’s HNB Division Inspector Mohan Kumar, other officials and staff, took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
