Five from Mysuru among 100 ‘Suvarna Mahotsava’ Awardees

Bengaluru: As part of Karnataka Sambhrama-50 celebrations, the State Government has selected 50 men and 50 women achievers including five from Mysuru for ‘Suvarna Mahotsava Award’, that will be conferred at Kalamandira in city tomorrow (Nov. 1) by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Among the awardees,  Kenchaiah (folklore), Fajlu Rehman Khan (painting), Malathisri (theatre), Dr. Rathirao (Science and Technology) and Mysuru District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal are from Mysuru district.

A total of 12 achievers have been selected for the award in the field of folklore, followed by six in Medical, nine in Media, two in Environment, three in Yakshagana/ Bayalata, nine in Theatre, seven in Sculpture and Painting, one in Photography, three in Music, five in Miscellaneous, 12 in Social Service, 10 in Literature, seven in Education, two in Sports, four in Agriculture, Rathirao in Science and Technology and one each in Administration, Dance and Freedom Struggle.
