Mysore/Mysuru: The following five journalists from Mysuru have been selected for the annual awards given by Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) for the year 2022-23:
M.N. Lakshminarayana Yadav, photojournalist, Star of Mysore and Mysuru Mithra – ‘Bandapura Muniraju Award’ for best photo news.
Dr. Kudli Gururaj, Special Correspondent, Udayavani – ‘Khadri Shamanna Award’ for best political critique.
Avinash Jainahalli, Reporter, Vijayavani – ‘Nettakallappa Award’ for best sports report.
L.S. Srikanth, Sub-Editor, Kannada Prabha – ‘B.S. Venkataram Award’ for scoop article.
H.S. Sachith, Reporter, Prajavani, Hunsur – ‘R.L. Vasudevarao Award’ for report on forest.

Also, P.P. Kalaiah of ‘Kodagu Shakti’ Daily has been selected for ‘Sannuvanda Srinivasa Changappa Award’ given for best report and K.B. Jagadish Jodubeeti has been selected for ‘B.G. Thimmappaiah Award.’
Apart from the above, over 40 journalists have been selected for more than 20 Awards. The awards will be conferred at the 37th State Journalists Conference to be held at Vijayapura next month, said KUWJ President Shivanand Tagadur.
