Five sentenced for life in robbery and murder case

Mysore/Mysuru: A City Court has sentenced five persons to life imprisonment for robbing and murdering a man.

Ramesh, G. Parandhaman, Syed Shakir, Ejaz Ahmed and Shankar, all residents of Ambur in Tamil Nadu, are the ones who are sentenced for life.

The five were accused of entering the house of one Abdul Salam, a resident of third cross, K.R. Hospital Road in 2013 and brutally assaulting Abdul Salam and Reshma Banu, who were in the house, before decamping with gold jewellery. Abdul Salam who was stabbed multiple times, died of injuries.

The  jurisdictional Lashkar Police, who had registered a case in this regard, had filed chargesheet against the accused. Inspectors T.B. Rajanna, P.R. Shinde and Shabbeer Hussain had carried out the investigation.

The Third Additional District and Sessions Court, which heard the case on Friday, held the five accused guilty of the charges and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
