Gold ornaments, diamond earrings, silver articles, wrist watches, LED TV, cash stolen
Mysore/ Mysuru: Miscreants who gained entry into a flat at an apartment in Sharadadevinagar here by forcing the door open, have decamped with gold, silver, cash and other valuables from the flat.
The burglary took place at Flat No. MIG 548 belonging to N. Gangadhar, a retired PF Office employee. On Jan. 11, Gangadhar, along with his wife G. Usha, had gone to their native Aathur village, Sullia taluk in Dakshina Kannada.
When the couple returned on Jan. 29 at 10.30 pm, they put in their key to open the front door and to their dismay, the door opened with just a nudge. With anxiety, they entered the flat and saw all their household things scattered. The couple also found their two almirahs forcibly opened and ransacked.
The burglars had made away with a 40-gram gold chain, one 30-gram pearl chain, a pair of diamond earrings, 40-gram coral gold bangle, a pair of black bead gold earrings, a pair of coral earrings, 350 grams silver articles, three Titan wrist watches, one 32 inch LED TV and Rs. 2,000 cash, all totalling Rs. 4 lakh.
Saraswathipuram Inspector N. Anil Kumar and staff, who rushed to the flat, conducted mahazar and registered a case. Dog Squad and Fingerprint unit also inspected the flat.
