Mysuru: Sri Tyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, has organised a Karnatak Classical Flute Recital by Vid. Rakesh Sudhir at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Vivekanandanagar, SBM Colony, Srirampura, at 6.30 pm on Dec. 23.
He will be accompanied by Vid. M. Keshav on violin, Vid. Kumar Swamy on mridanga and Vid. Shyam on ghatam.
Profile: Vidwan Rakesh Sudhir is a disciple of Vid. A.V. Prakash and Vid. A.P. Krishna Prasad, well-knownr flautists of Mysuru. He has also been trained in Karnatak classical vocal for many years by Vidu. Rajalakshmi Narasimhamurthy. Since his younger days he has participated in many music competitions at several places and won prizes at various levels.
He is known for his versatile style of presenting flute artistry in both Karnatak style and Hindusthani style Bansuri playing (Base Bamboo Flute).
He has given flute accompaniment performances at the Music Academy, Chennai, 2018 during music and dance festivals and has performed a duet with his Guru Vid. A.V. Prakash at Tirupathi Tirumala Devasthanam.
