Mysore/Mysuru: Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Justice Prasanna B. Varale has given a call to the advocates to give preference for speedy disposal of cases through Lok Adalat.
Justice Varale observed that “Advocates should initiate for solving the cases through mutual agreement between the plaintiffs. With this the pressure on legal system will be addressed.”
Lakhs of cases are being settled through Lok Adalat, as during the National Lok Adalat held in the month of February alone 64.13 lakh cases were settled, followed by second Lok Adalat when 34.76 lakh cases were settled, said Justice Varale providing statistics of the cases solved.
Even family disputes have been solved in Lok Adalat, through which several of warring couples are also reunited. By parents deciding to live together, it has brought joy in their children too.
