Sir,
You rightly wrote through your editorial about the climbing graph of Food Frauds’ Free Run in our country, which is also true globally, while appreciating the good efforts of food scientists and technologists of CFTRI for developing various food products and processes for enterprising food industries in the country for the benefit of mankind (SOM dated June 7).
But in recent times such beneficial technologies are sometimes misused resulting in adulteration of food items in the market as averred by you which is the result of personal avarice. The whole system is plagued by corruption and nothing else right from the Food Inspectors to the top brass in our country which corrodes the whole system of freedom from adulteration of food items in the market.
How to bell the cat is an unending question and your trenchant editorial on food adulteration leaves many questions unanswered in the years to come as long as the adulteration is the name of the game.
