As part of Rangayana’s weekend plays, Vijayapura-based theatre artiste Shakeel Ahmed will enact a drama monologue titled ‘For a bite of food’ at Bhoomigeetha in Rangayana premises at 6.30 pm on Jan.26 (Sunday). The play is about a person and his soul going in search of the cause of his death. This man, unable to bear hunger and poverty, goes wandering about in search of food, but to no avail. Then, the dejected man on his way back home, ends up buying ‘mutton.’ Is it really ‘mutton’ what the man bought and was it worth eating it is what the play is about. The story also revolves around how religion, politics and policies define the life of a common man. The play, directed by Leela Alneej, has music by Jyorja Chiyampi and stage lighting by Anthony Kent.
