Forceful implementation of Hindi in State opposed

Mysore/Mysuru: Leaders of various organisations, under the banner of Naavu Dravida Kannadigaru, opposing the forceful imposition of Hindi language in the State, staged a protest near DC’s Office this morning.

Pointing out that they were not against Hindi language, they termed it a conspiracy to impose it on regional language-speaking States in the name of India’s unity. They said that the forceful imposition of Hindi would cause a lot of problems to the people of the State especially in rural places as they could not understand Hindi.

Prof. K.S. Bhagawan, Dalit Federation Convenor Raju, pro-Kannada activist Mugur Nanjundaswamy and others were present.

Similar protest was held at Gandhi Square by members of Karnataka Nyayapara Vedike.
