Former Karnataka Skipper and medium pacer R. Vinay Kumar announced that he will be moving out of Karnataka for the 2019-20 first-class season and taking his skills as a player and mentor to Puducherry.
Addressing media persons at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here, Vinay announced his decision to move out of Karnataka. “They (Cricket Association of Pondicherry) approached me a couple of weeks ago and I decided that it was a good time to leave. Karnataka have plenty of great talent and they will do great things. I am making way for the youngsters of the State. I hope I can do in Puducherry what I did here,” said Vinay, who is the most successful Captain for Karnataka.
Vinay represented Karnataka in 130 first-class games and picked up 459 wickets along with 3025 runs.
He also featured in 31 One-Day Internationals, bagging 38 scalps, and a wicket in the one Test against Australia in 2012.
