Mysore/Mysuru: Former Mayor Sandesh Swamy launched the free application form filling drive for auto and taxi drivers, who are seeking Rs.5,000 one-time compensation under the Rs.1,610 crore special package recently announced by the State Government for the working class, at a programme near Rajendranagar bus stand (Kesare Circle) here on Sunday.
The drive is initiated by Team Mysuru in various areas of N.R. Assembly segment.
Speaking on the occasion, Sandesh Swamy said that auto and taxi drivers are facing a lot of hardship due to COVID-19 lockdown. Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, taking note of their plight, recently announced a financial package for several sections of the working class, including auto and taxi drivers.
Lauding the initiative of Team Mysuru for helping the drivers in the submission of application forms to seek compensation, he called upon the drivers for judicious utilisation of compensation money.
The form filling centres are opened at various areas of N.R. Assembly Constituency including Kesare, Bannimantap, N.R. Mohalla and Kyathamaranahalli, he added.
Former KEA Chairman B.P.Manjunath, N.R. Assembly segment BJP President Bhanuprakash, leaders Velu, Swamygowda and S. Murali, Team Mysuru Convenor Gokul Govardhan and others were present.
