Former MLA M.K. Somashekar leads protest demanding filling of potholes

Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging that BJP Ministers and MLAs are chanting the name of PM Modi and wasting time even as the citizens are cursing the State Government for the poor quality of road works, a group of activists, led by former K.R. Constituency MLA M.K. Somashekar, staged a protest at Vinaya Marga in Siddarthanagar here on Tuesday.

“Roads are full of potholes and the public are facing lot of hardships. Though people have protested many times, BJP leaders are busy chanting Modi’s name and are  completely ignoring the problems faced by the tax-payers,” the protestors alleged and shouted slogans against the BJP Government.

There are many potholes on Vinaya Marga road and a protest was held three months ago demanding filling of these potholes. Following this, potholes were filled in a hurry and within three months, the road is back to normal with the same potholes. The roads were repaired spending Rs.4 crore. But this 40 per cent commission road work is only a waste of public money and it has not reduced the miseries of common man in any way,” alleged the protestors.

Ex-Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, former Deputy Mayor Sridhar, Block Congress President G. Somashekar, Bhaskar L. Gowda, Sridhar, Pradeep Kumar, Prathidwani Prasad and others participated in the protest.
