Mysuru: Former MLC K.T. Srikantegowda has urged Chief Minister Siddharamaiah to fulfil the Congress party’s pre-poll promise of reintroduction of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in place of the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
Addressing a press meet here on Friday, Srikantegowda said that the staff of aided educational Institutions are not getting either OPS or NPS, which has put them to a lot of hardship in their post-retirement days.
Pointing out that the Government should bring such staff too under the pension scheme, he reiterated that the Congress Government should meet its pre-poll promise of the reintroduction of OPS.
Strongly opposing the Government’s decision to entrust the Monitoring of Deputy Director of Pre-University Education (DDPUE) office in the districts coming under Mysuru and Bengaluru Revenue divisions on a day-to-day basis, to the respective ZP CEO, Marithibbeowda wanted the Government to take back its order and continue with the existing system.
He warned of an intensive agitation by PU department teaching and Non-teaching staff if the Government does not rescind its order immediately.
M.M. Mahadev, Umesh, Hongaiah and Puttegowda were present at the press meet.
