Former MP A.H. Vishwanath seeks Suttur Seer’s blessings

Mysuru: Close on the heels of holding a meeting of his followers at K.R. Nagar recently, former MP A.H. Vishwanath, who is all set to leave the Congress, with which he was associated for four decades, visited Suttur Mutt here yesterday and sought the blessings of Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.

Later speaking to press persons, Vishwanath said that he had met the Suttur Seer to discuss admission of a poor boy at a JSS Educational Institution.

Maintaining that he did not discuss any political issues with the Seer, Vishwanath said that the political atmosphere in the Congress had vitiated and old Congressmen had no place in the party. As such, senior Congress leaders were mulling quitting the party, he said adding that he had held talks with his followers and would soon take a decision on his future political course.

Referring to Monday’s State-wide bandh called by Vatal Nagaraj and several Kannada outfits, the former MP said that a bandh’s success depends on issues and Monday’s bandh flopped as there was no serious issue in the purpose of the bandh.
