Mysore/Mysuru: Former Chamarajanagar MP R. Dhruvanarayan launched ‘Arogya Hasta,’ a unique medical outreach programme at Madhuvana Layout, near Srikantha School on M.G. Road, coming under Krishnaraja (KR) Constituency this morning.
The ‘Arogya Hasta’ team, which visited the houses, conducted thermal screening and also checked the pulse rate of the residents using Oximeter. If anyone is found with COVID-19 symptoms, the team would provide them information about the health services available.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhruvanarayan, who is also the State President of Karnataka Arogya Hasta, said that the programme has been initiated in the State under the leadership of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D.K. Shivakumar and former CM Siddharamaiah to control the increase in the number of COVID-19 positive cases.
Alleging that the State Government has miserably failed in controlling the spread of the virus, he said that the death rate due to the virus had also increased. He said that the Arogya Hasta programme has successfully covered 22 districts in the State and regretted that the number of COVID positive cases had crossed five lakh in Karnataka.
He appealed the residents not to fear if they contracted the virus and added that timely treatment and necessary precautions could cure them.
Former MLA M.K. Somashekar, former MYLAC Chairman H.A. Venkatesh, KR Block President G. Somashekar, KPCC Member Srinath Babu, Gunashekar and others were present.
