Former PM H.D. Deve Gowda visits ailing MLA Chikkamadu at city hospital

Mysuru: Former Prime Minister and JD(S) Supremo H.D. Deve Gowda visited ailing H.D. Kote JD(S) MLA Chikkamadu who is being treated at a private hospital here yesterday and enquired about his health.

Later speaking to press persons, Deve Gowda said that he had talked to the doctors treating the MLA and according to them Chikkamadu is recovering.

Referring to the political developments in the State, the former PM lashed out at Minister Roshan Baig for making cheap and derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Strongly condemning Baig’s remarks against the PM, Deve Gowda said that no one should make cheap remarks against the PM and the Chief Minister.

Replying to a question on former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy’s (HDK)  health, he said that his son HDK had recovered and he will undertake a tour of the State from Nov.1.

On the finalisation of party candidates, Deve Gowda said that he recently held a meeting with the party ticket aspirants. He will hold a private survey in such constituencies where there are multiple aspirants before finalising the candidate. However, the list of party candidates is likely to be finalised in December, he said.

Reacting to senior party leaders G.T. Devegowda and A.H. Vishwanath meeting former Minister and BJP leader V. Sreenivasa Prasad, the JD(S) Supremo said that there was noting special about the visit, as the two leaders have maintained a long association with Prasad ever since D. Devaraj Urs was the Chief Minister.

Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, City JD(S) President Harish Gowda, former VC and JD(S) leader Prof. K.S. Rangappa, Corporator K.V. Mallesh and others were present.
