Mysore/Mysuru: Ideal Jawa Rotary School (IJRS) celebrated the Founder’s Day and the birth centenary year of Sheila F. Irani today at the School premises on JLB Road in city.
Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, who was the chief guest, offered floral tributes to the portrait of Sheila Irani, an Educationist, Parliamentarian and Philanthropist.
Chairperson of the Governing Council (GC) Mrs. Shiraz Irani, President of Rotary Mysore Rtn. Ramachandra Raje Urs, Chairman of GC Rtn. R. Vasudev Bhat, Hon. Secretary Rtn. M.C.S. Manohara, Treasurer Rtn. Ebby Eapen, GC Members Rtn. Raian Irani, Jothsna Raian Irani, Rtn. Chethan Vishwanath, Prof. Jacob Chandy, Principal S.A. Veena, staff and students were present on the occasion.
Founder’s Day was celebrated to mark the 100th birthday of late Sheila Irani (12.6.1922- 10.4.2003) who started Ideal Jawa Rotary School on 25th January 1968 in Mysuru.
This marks the beginning of a year-long series of events to follow in memory of Sheila Irani, who still lives on in the hearts of every student and teacher who had an opportunity to be a part of the IJRS family.
