Four arrested for assault on housewife

Mysuru: N.R. Police have arrested four persons for allegedly assaulting a housewife with lethal weapons at her house in N.R. Police limits. The accused were produced before a Court, which has remanded them to judicial custody.

The accused — Mujeeb ur Rehman, Umar Khan, Siddiq Khan and Adil — had assaulted  the wife of Mir Salauddin, a scrap dealer and a resident of Shivaji Road in city.

On Oct.18, at about 10.30 pm, the accused, along with others, went to the house of the lady, accused her of spreading a false message that Mujeeb ur Rehman’s wife was having an illicit relationship and allegedly assaulted her using lethal weapons. They later called Mir Salauddin over phone and reportedly asked him to come to the house. When he came, the assaulters threatened of murdering him if he disclosed the incident to Police and had also taken away the CCTV DVR which had recorded the incident.

N.R. Police, who had registered a case based on the complaint by Mir Salauddin, took up the investigation, arrested four persons and have launched a hunt to nab others involved in the assault.
