4,961.35 kg rice, electronic weighing machine, sewing machine, Rs. 4,000 cash and goods vehicle seized
Mysore/Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, who raided a godown in Lashkar Mohalla in Mandi Police limits, have arrested four persons, who were loading Public Distribution Scheme (PDS) rice that was stocked in the godown belonging to one Jaber Shariff, on to a goods vehicle to be sold for higher rate.
The arrested are 26-year-old Saqlain Shariff of Lashkar Mohalla, 34-year-old Nayaz of Rajivnagar 1st Stage, 31-year-old Ishan Baig of Mandi Mohalla and 38-year-old Zameer Pasha of Sathyanagar in Udayagiri here.
The Police have seized 49.61 quintals (4,961.35 kg) PDS rice, one electronic weighing machine, one sewing machine, Rs. 4,000 cash and a goods vehicle (KA-10-2480) from the accused.
A case has been registered at Mandi Police Station. DCP Dr. A.N. Prakash Gowda and CCB ACP V. Mariyappa supervised CCB Inspectors A. Mallesh and C. Kiran Kumar, ASI R. Raju and staff Joseph Noronha, D. Srinivasa Prasad, W.D. Deepak, Purushotham, Arun Kumar, V. Raghu, Rajashree Jalawadi and K.G. Srinivas and Food Inspector T.J. Lakshmi in the nabbing and seizing operation.
