Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, Mysuru District Crime Detection Squad Police have arrested four persons on charges of illegally selling Kerala lottery tickets and have seized a total of 1,175 lottery tickets, Rs. 5,250 and a bike from them. Separate cases have been registered at H.D. Kote and Saragur Police Stations and the Police have launched a hunt to nab one more accused, who is absconding.
Those arrested are Manju and Ravi of Saragur and Mallaiah and Madegowda of H.D. Kote. Another accused identified as B. Ramesh, proprietor of Vishu Mobiles at Saragur has gone absconding.
In the first case, following a tip off that Kerala State lottery tickets were being sold illegally at Saragur, Mysuru District Crime Detection Squad Police personnel ASI Satish, Abdul Lathif, N.A. Ashok and Bhaskar, guided by Superintendent of Police (SP) Mallikarjun Baladandi, Additional SPs Nagesh and Mallik, raided the spot in Saragur yesterday morning, during which accused B. Ramesh and Ravi fled from the spot but the Cops managed to catch Ravi and seized 252 lottery tickets from him.
During interrogation, Ravi is said to have told the Police that Ramesh, Proprietor of Vishu Mobile shop, was the one who fled from the spot.
In the second case, Mysuru District Crime Detection Squad Police raided the spot in front of Kaveri Grameena Bank in Saragur, during which Manju, who was selling the lottery tickets fled from the spot.
The Police, who chased him, caught and arrested him besides seizing 571 lottery tickets and a bike (KA-45-L-2230) used for selling the tickets illegally.
In another two cases, the Mysuru District Crime Detection Squad Police have arrested Mallaiah and Madegowda, who were selling lottery tickets near Gaddige Circle and Hand Post Circle at H.D. Kote and have seized 185 and 167 lottery tickets from them respectively.
Two cases each have been registered against the accused at Saragur and H.D. Kote Police Stations.
