Mysuru: The four-day Dasara Poets’ Meet will be held at Jaganmohan Palace from Sept. 24 to 27, said Dasara Kavi Goshti Sub-Committee Working President Dr. N.K. Lolakshi at a press meet yesterday.
In all, there will be four sessions — Vikasa Kavi Goshti (24 poets from Mysuru division comprising Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Mandya and Hassan), Vinoda Kavi Goshti (8 reputed senior poets including Dundiraj, Dr. Chandrashekar Patil), Visishta Kavi Goshti (2 transgenders, 3 devadasis, 3 rehabilitated women, 2 tribals, 4 inmates of old-age homes, 6 specially-abled and a foreigner) and Vikyata Kavi Goshti (1 poet each from 30 districts apart from 6 regional languages like Kodava, Tulu, Konkani, Urdu, Byari and Arebashe).
Music Director Hamsalekha, poet Siddalingaiah, District in-Charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa and MLAs will attend the inaugural ceremony.
Police Training School Principal Dharanidevi Malagatti, writer K. B. Siddaiah, Lata Hamsalekha, actor-politician Mukhyamantri Chandru, MLC Jayamala and Kannada Development Authority Chairman S. G. Siddaramaiah will attend during various sessions.
Yoga Dasara Sub-Committee Working President K. Ramya, Secretary Dr. Seethalakshmi, Kavi Goshti Sub-Committee Dy. Special Officer Dr. B.K.S Vardhan and Secretary B. Manjunath were present at the press meet.
