Mysore/Mysuru: Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Mysuru had organised a four-day English workshop for Primary and High School teachers at its premises here recently.
Former KSOU English Professor and present Director of Children’s Literary Club, Mysuru, Dr. R. Purnima was the resource person.
The objective of the workshop was to make the best use of the lean period and to transmit all that the participant teachers had learnt to their students after reopening of schools. Nearly 15 Primary and High School teachers, participated in the workshop.
The topics covered at the workshop were creatively teaching Basic English to first generation English learners, enhancing the habit of reading, theatre in education, general knowledge, translation and preparation of report.
In addition to giving illuminating quotable quotes relating to the pleasure of reading, resource person Dr. Purnima encouraged the participants to read a few pages from Enid Blyton’s ‘The Famous Five’. As part of grammar lessons, the significance of punctuations like Inter quotation etc. was made known
The participants including the Director of Chinmaya Vidyalaya K. Mangala proactively participated in the workshop.
