Mysuru: A four-day International Seminar on Karate dealing with all the traditional practices of Karate and Japanese culture; from the early stages of karate to the present time will be held from tomorrow (Nov. 1) to Nov. 4 from 9 am to 4 pm at Notredame School Auditorium at Hinkal in city.
The seminar will be inaugurated at 9.30 am in which Maj. Gen (Retd) S.G. Vombatkere will be the chief guest. Rev. Fr. Thomas Mangalathil, Parish Priest of Infant Jesus Cathedral, Rev. Sis. Julie, Principal of Notredame School and College, and Sensei Suresh Kenichira, Secretary of Okinawa Karate and Kobudo Federation of India will be present on the occasion.
Chief Organiser Sensei K.P. Johnson of Kokusai Shogen Ryu Karate do, Mysuru said that Sensei Takeshi Tamaki, Sensei Masahiko Tokashiki, Sensei Sadahiro Makino and Sensei Tsutomu Daiku from Japan (Okinawa) will be the seminar instructors.
On the 3rd day at 4 pm, Okinawan masters meeting has been organised with all the senior masters of India who practice Traditional Karate in India and the executive members of Okinawa Karate and Kobudo Federation of India.
The purpose of the meeting is to evaluate the current scenario of traditional Karate in India and also to come up with ideas and plans to promote traditional Karate in India.
