Four from city make country proud

Mysuru: Our Targetball players from Mysuru represented the Indian Men’s Targetball Team that recently took part in the Indo-Bangla Targetball Championship held between Aug.1 and 3 at Dhaka. Both Indian men’s and women’s teams emerged victorious in the championship. 

City’s M.A. Thomas, Rohit, Prashanth and Srinivas were a part of the team that visited Bangladesh. Thomas, a native of Hebbal in Mysuru, works as a certified fitness trainer at MSPL Limited in Hospet. Rohit is a 2nd year B.Sc student at Yuvaraja’s College and Prashanth is a professional sportsperson. Srinivas, who is a physical education director at a Government School in K.R. Pet was the coach of the Indian Men’s Targetball Team.

Targetball, which is a combination of Handball and Basketball, is unique sport that was founded by one Sonu Sharma of Madhya Pradesh around five year ago. Sharma is also the President of International Targetball Association.
