Mysuru: Four persons were killed in road mishaps across the district in the last 24 hours.
In a hit-and-run incident, Srikantaiah, of Siddayyanahundi in H.D. Kote taluk was on his morning jog on Manandavadi road on Sunday, when a speeding car reportedly knocked him down. Srikantaiah who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to taluk hospital, where he died sometime later. The car driver sped away soon after the mishap, it is learnt.
H.D. Kote Police have registered a case in this regard.
In the second incident, Shankaravva (70) was crossing the road near Sharada Cinema Hall at Periyapatna town, when she was fatally knocked down by a speeding vehicle, it is learnt.
Periyapatna Police have registered a case in this regard.
In another incident, a two wheeler rider was killed when he was knocked down by a motorcycle on Nanjangud-Gundlupet road on Sunday.
Rangashetty, of Karalapura in Nanjangud taluk is the deceased.
Rangashetty had just entered the Nanjangud-Gundlupet road after filling fuel at a petrol pump on the outskirts of Nanjangud town, when he was fatally knocked down by a motorcycle, it is learnt.
Nanjangud Police have registered a case in this regard.
In yet another incident, a two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot when a lorry knocked him down near Kavalande in Nanjangud taluk, it is learnt.
