Mandya: Four persons of a family including two children were killed on-the-spot when the car in which they were travelling reportedly jumped the road diver in a bid to avoid ramming into a roadside stationary car and hit a KSRTC bus coming on the other side of the road near Gejjalagere Colony, Maddur taluk on Bengaluru-Mysur Highway yesterday afternoon.
The deceased are Ravi (34), his wife Manjula (25) and children Sagar (5) and Sukanya (8), natives of Hebbakawadi village, Kothathi hobli in Mandya taluk, who were residing at Kumaraswamy Layout in Bengaluru.
With Saturday being half day to school, Ravi, along with his wife and children, was proceeding to Hebbakawadi village in their Maruti Swift car (KA-01 MG-8249). While they were proceeding on Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway near Gejjalagere Colony at about 2.40 pm, the person behind the wheels of the car, in a bid to avoid ramming into a stationary car on the roadside, reportedly lost control of the car, which jumped the road divider and rammed into a KSRTC bus coming on the other side of the road resulting in all four of them being killed on-the-spot.
Maddur Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
