Rs. 20,000 in cash, two vehicles worth Rs. 70,000 and a DVR box recovered
Mysuru: The Vijayanagar Police have arrested four burglars involved in thefts from schools and recovered Rs. 20,000 in cash along with a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) box.
On Sept. 3, the Police arrested the suspects as they were waiting to commit another burglary near SVEI School in Vijayanagar 4th Stage. During interrogation, the accused confessed to burglarizing schools in Vijayanagar, Hebbal, and Kuvempunagar Police jurisdictions.
Based on their statements, the Police also recovered Rs. 20,000 in cash and a DVR box from the suspects. Additionally, an iron rod and a bike used in the crimes were seized.
On Sept. 4, Vijayanagar Police arrested a man riding a bike without a registration number plate in Vijayanagar 4th Stage. The suspect, charged with two-wheeler thefts, had two stolen vehicles worth Rs. 70,000 in his possession.
Following the arrest, the Police took the accused into custody and interrogated him at the station. Based on the information provided by the suspect, the Police recovered the two stolen two-wheelers valued at Rs. 70,000.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP G.S. Gajendra Prasad oversaw the operation, which was executed by Vijayanagar Inspector S.D. Sureshkumar, Sub-Inspectors K. Vishwanath, D. Krishna, and Vanajakshi, along with staff members Shankar, Pradeep, K.N. Lokesh, K.N. Manjunath, N. Venkatesh, Shivakumar, A.M. Paramesh, and Mayappa.
The Technical Wing’s Kumar also contributed to the successful recovery.
