Mysuru, Apr.30- Free school admissions for classes 1 to 10 have begun at Government School for Deaf and Blind in Tilaknagar, for children with hearing impairment. Boys will be provided school admissions with free accommodation while girls will be provided free school admissions. The syllabus prescribed by the Department of Public Instruction for normal children will be imparted in this school. Specially-abled children will get concessions in learning languages. Admissions for the academic year 2025-26 have started and for 1st standard children in the age group of 5 ½ years to 9 years with hearing disability are eligible.
Children who have not attended schools till now because of their hearing disability and also those children who are already studying in other schools are also eligible for admissions.
Boys will be provided with free meals, accommodation, text books and medical facilities by the Government. SSLC students will be taught by teachers who have expertise in special teaching. The school is registering 100% result in SSLC examinations for the last 5 years. Parents of hearing impaired children can obtain applications from the school during Office hours.
