Mysuru: Ani Foundation had organised a free dental check-up for over 50 children of Mahouts and Kavadis at Dubare Elephant Camp recently in association with Indian Wildlife Explorers under the ‘Clean Teeth’ campaign. The programme was inaugurated by retired DGP Jyotiprakash Miriji.
The children were checked for dental health and tooth brush and tooth paste were distributed to them and were advised to brush their teeth regularly.
Ani Foundation President and Dentist Dr. Anushree, speaking on the occasion, said that similar free dental check-up camps have been held by the Foundation for students of several Government and Private Schools in Mysuru and Mandya districts.
She further said that over 1,500 children have been examined in the camps. She added that to create awareness on voting, people who had exercised their franchise in the recent election, were provided free dental check-up.
Another Dentist Dr. Nisarga contended that people take care of their general health ignoring dental hygiene, which is bad especially for children.
ACF Chinnappa, RFO Arunkumar, Indian Wildlife Explorers Chief Bhagyalakshmi and others were present.
