Frequent accidents near MUDA Commissioner’s residence

Sir,

I wish to express my growing concern over the alarming rise in accidents near the MUDA Commissioner’s residence, close to Cauvery School in Kuvempunagar. The primary issue stems from the poorly maintained road dividers along this stretch. These dividers, lacking proper reflectors, become nearly invisible to motorists at night due to the glare of oncoming traffic. Furthermore, their misalignment poses unexpected obstacles.

Even when initially set in place, they often shift due to heavy rains and constant traffic vibrations, as they are not securely anchored to the road.

Despite multiple inspections by the traffic Police and repeated complaints to the Mysuru City Corporation, no corrective action has been taken. This negligence is now compromising public safety, particularly for vehicles travelling after dark.

I strongly urge the authorities to address this issue without delay by: Installing reflectors on the dividers; Realigning and securely anchoring them; Conducting regular inspections to maintain road safety.

Timely intervention will not only prevent future accidents but also restore a sense of safety and security for all road users.
