Friendship, Cultural Exchange and Community Service… Rotary Mysore hosts Tamil Nadu Rotary Clubs

Mysore/Mysuru: Rotary Mysore welcomed distinguished Rotary Clubs from across Tamil Nadu for a three-day visit dedicated to friendship, cultural exchange and service.

Participating Clubs included Rotary Mysore, Rotary Club of Theni Stars, Rotary Club of Thanjavur Emperors, Rotary Club of Chennai Orchids, Rotary Club of Coimbatore East, Rotary Club of Nagercoil Pearls, and Rotary Club of Puducherry.

The visit was organised on the eve of Rotary International Day (Feb. 23), with celebrations beginning a day earlier to honour the spirit of unity and service.

As part of the programme, all Clubs joined hands in a meaningful community initiative — donating first-aid kits to Pourakarmikas, the unsung heroes who keep Mysuru clean and healthy.

This gesture symbolised Rotary’s enduring commitment to supporting those who serve at the grassroots level.

Speaking on the occasion, Rotary Mysore President Rtn. D. Ravi Shankar emphasised the importance of collaboration and gratitude: “Rotary is about building bridges — between communities, cultures and hearts. By supporting Pourakarmikas, we honour those who keep our city vibrant and safe.”

The three-day programme featured cultural showcases, fellowship activities and discussions on strengthening collaboration between Rotary Clubs of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

On the same day, contributions were also made to the Pulse Polio Fund, reinforcing Rotary’s global commitment to eradicating polio.
