Mysuru Pharmacist’s initiative to water saplings planted across city
Mysuru/Mysore: Planting a sapling is any man’s job, but planting saplings, watering them, especially during summer season and nurturing them is the real job, which Mysuru Pharmacist N. Raghavan of Raghulal and Co., is doing.
Raghavan, who has so far planted thousands of saplings across the city and provided more than 15,000 Tree Guards, has now turned a saviour of thousands of saplings planted by various organisations and individuals across the city.
“Plants need water especially during summer and I feel it is my duty to protect these plants by providing water to them,” Raghavan said. He said that after planting a sapling, nurturing them is equally important and a simple thing that an individual can do is to water the saplings.
He said that more than 100 loads of water is needed per month to water the saplings and added that he has already sponsored 67 loads. Even the Forest Department is extending help by providing water tanker, Raghavan said and urged like- minded individuals to come forward and sponsor water to the plants this summer.
